The Cleveland Cavaliers have a +275 to win the 2016 NBA title with the San Antonio Spurs being close off at +300. However, the conference bets for these two teams tell a rather different story.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are -300 favorites with SBG Global to win the Easter Conference this year. The success of LeBron James over the years is a clear part of why the Cavs are favored so heavily although he does have help with Anderson Varejao, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving on the same roster.
The Chicago Bulls have an +800 line to win the East. The health of Derrick Rose is always going to be a big topic although Jimmy Butler and Joakim Noah have become more prominent players in recent times.
The Miami Heat have a +900 line to win it all this year. Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade are looking to prove that they don’t need LeBron to win the title – a point that Wade has proven once.
The San Antonio Spurs are +200 to win in the West although their time for a sixth NBA title could be short with Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili coming up in age. The team does have some strong young talent with LaMarcus Aldridge joining the roster.
The Golden State Warriors have a +300 line at SBG sportsbook to repeat as conference champions and to potentially make it into the NBA Finals once again. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Andrew Bogut are all looking to show that the Warriors are here to stay.
The Oklahoma City Thunder missed the playoffs last year but have a +450 line to win the West this year. The Thunder have Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook fully healthy although Serge Ibaka and Enes Kanter are expected to be serious competitors this year to help get the Thunder back into the race.
Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets and Sacramento Kings are all the way back at +12500. The Kings’ DeMarcus Cousins is one of the league’s most promising young players.
